Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman

Free

The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman is a free, independent, and impartial service that investigates complaints from the public about maladministration and service failures. It steps in when individuals feel they have suffered an injustice because of how decisions were made or carried out by local councils, school admission appeal panels, and other local public authorities. Additionally, the service investigates complaints about all registered adult social care providers, which includes both publicly funded and self-funded services like care homes and home care agencies, ensuring people have a route to resolve disputes when an organization's internal complaints procedure has failed to reach a satisfactory outcome.
