Recovery & Wellbeing Academy
Free
The Recovery and Wellbeing Academy is a pioneering regional educational service run by the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust in collaboration with local authorities and third-sector charities (including Coventry and Warwickshire Mind). The service bridges the gap between structured clinical therapy and independent community self-care. Crucially, the Academy is not a traditional academic college—there are no exams, entry requirements, or performance assessments. Instead, it provides a welcoming, classroom-style setting where adults can register for free modules designed to help them better understand and take control of their emotional health. Courses are co-delivered by a professional clinician alongside a "peer tutor" who has personal, lived experience with mental health challenges. Modules cover a massive array of practical subjects, from managing depression and developing emotional resilience to specialized lifestyle workshops, creative arts for wellbeing, and digital training (such as navigating Zoom for remote learning). Friends, family members, and caregivers are actively encouraged to enroll and learn right alongside the students.
