The Coventry Widowed Group is a local peer-support network run entirely by volunteers who are widows themselves. The group acts as a welcoming social lifeline, bridging the gap between formal bereavement counseling and the need for regular, informal human connection. The service focuses on helping members build new friendships and regain confidence through consistent, low-pressure social activities. They host weekly Wednesday coffee mornings (with an optional follow-on lunch) alongside structured monthly Saturday meetings featuring guest speakers. Beyond their regular base, the group coordinates a wide array of peer-led activities to keep members active and engaged, including theatre trips, walking groups, coach excursions, group dinners, and organized group holidays.
