Rugby Bareboards Trust
The Rugby Bareboards Trust is an impactful, independent community charity founded explicitly to ensure that no one transitioning through a major life crisis has to face living in an empty home. The trust operates a highly practical collection-and-distribution network: Donation & Restoration: They collect quality, unwanted furniture, homewares, and household appliances donated by the public. Their team safety-checks and cleans the items to restore dignity to the goods. Referral-Based Distribution: They work directly with a trusted network of frontline partner organizations (such as local councils, housing associations, social services, women's refuges, and homelessness charities like P3 and the YMCA). These partners refer clients who are starting over—such as survivors of domestic abuse, care leavers, refugees, or formerly homeless individuals—so the trust can turn bare rooms into functioning homes. The Public Charity Shop: They run a large, public-facing retail store on Warren Road. Selling a mix of modern household goods, retro pieces, and everyday furniture to the general public helps generate the vital income needed to fund their free support packages for local families in severe distress.
