Back Up - Spinal Cord Injuries
Free
The Back Up Trust helps individuals of all ages and backgrounds rebuild their confidence and independence after a devastating spinal cord injury. What makes them so effective is their peer-led model—almost all services are designed and delivered by people who have spinal cord injuries themselves and truly understand the journey. Their core services include:Wheelchair Skills Training: Teaching critical day-to-day physical management, from balancing and tackling curbs to navigating tight indoor environments.Mentoring: Matching newly injured individuals (and separately, their family members) with a trained mentor who has lived through the same experience. Life-Changing Activity Courses: Re-introducing people to what is still possible through multi-activity outdoor challenges, city skills training, and independent living preparation. Work & School Integration: Structuring a path back into employment or tailoring school environments so children are not left behind.
