MHA Befriending Service (including telephone befriending application service) is a structured volunteer-led companionship service for older adults who are experiencing loneliness or social isolation. It matches individuals with trained volunteers for regular friendly conversations (by phone, online, or sometimes face-to-face depending on availability) to provide emotional support, reduce isolation, and improve overall wellbeing. The service is designed to help people stay socially connected, maintain confidence, and feel less alone in later life.
